We are ready when you need us to handle a range of non-life threatening conditions including:

• fevers, respiratory conditions and gastro.
• breaks, sprains, tears and wounds.
• superficial burns.
  
  

While our medical and nursing teams all have extensive emergency department experience, if you do have a medical emergency such breathing difficulties, uncontrolled bleeding, the patient is seizing or unconscious- please call 000 for immediate ambulance assistance.

To ensure we can provide a consistent, high level of urgent care services, we have limited the scope of what we do.

We don't provide:

• mental health or substance abuse support.
• vocational related services such as pre-employment testing.
• workers compensation or vehicle insurance claims.

Children's and adolescent mental health is an area that needs significantly more resources across the entire state. We will continue to review how we may be able to be part of the solution in the future.

Kinkaya Urgent Care is the first clinic of it's kind in WA.

We have designed the facilities and attracted a medical and nursing team with extensive paediatric experience to specifically deliver excellent care for young people.

We will of course assist anyone in need who presents at Kinkaya, however our experience is specifically geared towards kids and young adults.

Kids don't get sick or injured on a schedule so we are here to help when you need it.

Kinkaya Urgent Care is open from 8am to 10pm daily, every day of the year.

In general no. This is because a child's assessment is much different to an adult.

Kids, especially very young ones, aren't very good at explaining their symptoms so we need to use a lot more objective tests and observations to assess their condition which at this stage needs to be done in-person.

Their condition can also change rapidly in a short period of time so we like to keep kids in our care while treating them.

We do use phone and Telehealth as part of our follow up processes.

We get it- simple should mean simple. But a one-size-fits-all approach doesn't work when we need to meet all kinds of care needs.

We have worked hard to keep our pricing straightforward while still making sure it is fair.

From the moment you arrive, you are in the care of our full healthcare team who provide continuous assessment, monitoring and treatment.

Our three consult fee levels allow us to provide the services needed to get you on the path to being healthy again, without major differences to your out-of-pocket cost - regardless of the length of time you are with us.

More complex cases may require extra attention, medications and/or medical supplies. Our pricing reflects that.

We'll always talk you through your treatment plan and any costs before we move forward.

Here's how we keep you informed:

• On arrival, we'll explain the consult fees and answer any of your pricing questions.
• After triage (where our nurses understand why you are here, your medical history and complete an initial assessment), we will outline:
  • how long you may be with us,
  • what treatments might be involved, and
  • what it is likely to cost.
• Once the doctor completes their full assessment, they'll confirm the treatment plan.
• If anything needs to change, we'll talk to you first before moving ahead.

We want you to feel comfortable discussing any concerns you have about pricing of your treatment with the healthcare team.

You will be asked for your consent before we proceed with any treatment- including during registration.

If you prefer not to continue with additional treatment beyond the standard consult fee, we'll discuss appropriate alternatives- and always make sure the patient is stable and safe to leave.

Most follow-up reviews are bulk billed, meaning no additional cost to you.

Some simple reviews can be completed via Telehealth, but we often like to see patients in person, especially younger children as their condition can change rapidly in a short period of time.

If your follow-up is more complex or takes longer than 20 minutes, additional fees may apply (as listed above). But again- we'll always explain any costs before anything happens.

On completion of your initial treatment, we will let you know about follow up needs.

Yes. If you have a Medicare card, you'll receive a rebate on your consult fee.

The amount will vary but below is a guide listing the minimum rebates:

In general, there are no Medicare rebates for the extended care fees related to more complex cases.

There is simply too much of a gap between the current Medicare rebates and the costs related to the amount of time, staffing and resources required to provide the level of service we offer.

What we have done however, is look closely at what it does cost to consistently deliver the level of care required for our patients and set our pricing in line with this.

If rebates are increased, more will be returned to you rather than just ramping up our costs in-line with increases.

Consult fees do not change for non-resident/non-Medicare card holders.

It is still $195.00 for an initial consult.

Prices do change for some of our additional services though.
